Principal's Message
-
Dear Families,
On behalf of the administration and staff at Michigan Avenue Elementary (MAE), a warm and friendly welcome to our school for the 2020-21 school year! Michigan Avenue Bullpups are Positive, Understanding, Productive, and Safe Keepers. We are committed to creating and communicating a safe and positive environment for students, parents, staff, and community.
It is an honor to serve as the Principal of Michigan Avenue Elementary School, and a pleasure to watch the growth in students throughout Osceola County. I am delighted to be a part of the community and Principal at MAE. It is heartwarming to see all the accomplishments made and memories created throughout each school year. It gives me great joy to see our students excel in and out of the classroom. I am proud of our athletic and artistic students who continue to amaze me with their talent and recognition at district and state competitions. In addition, parent participation at events held at the school is thriving, and it is always wonderful to witness as we strive to build capacity and sustainable relationships among all stakeholders involved in the journey to academic success for children. This includes parent involvement in the School Advisory Council (SAC), Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), and Title I Parent Involvement events held during the school year. A warm thank you to our parents for your involvement. Research demonstrates a tremendous amount of a student’s life success is determined by the parent.
Michigan Avenue Elementary is dedicated to our Mission to cultivate a collaborative community of students, parents, and teachers to ensure all can learn and grow into creative well-rounded individuals. This dedication and commitment shared by all staff, parents, and community help make MAE the amazing school it is and will continue to be from year to year. So, join us as we provide an extraordinary learning experience for your child (ren).
Please do not hesitate to call me with questions regarding your child. I welcome your suggestions, and I encourage your interest and active participation in preparing our students and community for the future. I have an open door policy and welcome you to contact me by phone, in person, or by e-mail at diane.crooknichols@osceolaschools.net. Thank you for sharing your child (ren) with me. I look forward to a successful 2020-21 school year together!
Kind Regards,
Diane Crook-Nichols
Principal
