Osceola School District Invites Students And Parents To Be "All-In" For Historically Black Colleges and Universities
The Osceola School District is collaborating with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Broward County Public Schools, and the School District of Palm Beach County on the implementation of a college access event highlighting Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Osceola County School Board Reaches Tentative Agreement with Teamsters on Salary Increases for School-Related Employees In Their Bargaining Unit
The Osceola County School Board and Teamsters Local 385 have reached tentative agreement on $875,000 in salary increases.

School District's Ongoing Curbside Meal Program Consolidating To 13 School Sites Through End Of Second Semester
To ensure students have nutritious meals while learning at home, the Osceola School District's School Nutrition Services Department will continue to provide FREE breakfast and lunch to digital learning students and all children 18 years and under who are not attending in person classes through May 28, 2021.

School Orientations For Incoming Sixth Grade and Ninth Grade Students In Osceola County For The 2021-2022 School Year Kicking Off Virtually
The Osceola School District will be launching school orientations for incoming sixth and ninth grade students via FlipGrid, instead of holding large in-person events this year due to health and safety concerns.

Principal's Message
-
We are focusing on Habit 4: Think Win-Win here at school. Habit 4 is about mutual benefit, fairness, and abundance. This comes from achieving the Private Victory in Habits 1, 2, and 3. We move from dependence to independence. As we begin Habit 4, we move into the Public Victory and work towards achieving interdependence.

Narcoossee Elementary would like to welcome all of our new and returning families to NCES for the 2020-21 school year. The NCES community looks forward to implementing new programs and expanding on existing programs to develop leadership and life skills that will ensure student success! The first day of school for students is August 10th!

NCES Student Chooses to "Give Back" to the Community
Every year Tucker Smith, 5th grade, starts his birthday out by giving and choosing a "Give Before You Get" project. This year, Tucker chose to make "Laundry Blessing Bags," which he delivered to local laundromats in Saint Cloud the day before his birthday. Tucker made 182 bags containg detergent and dryer sheets for customers in need. We are proud of Tucker for being such a great leader and demonstrating the spirit of what a Lighouse School should be!

NCES Student Demonstrates The Leader in Me Spirit
Distance Learning has not stopped students from exhibiting The Leader in Me school spirit and giving back to the community.
Myah Gibson, 4th grade, and Jillian Zinnert, a former NCES student, have been selling bracelets and lemonade to raise money for local nurses. The girls set up every evening after 5 when everybody is walking in their neighborhood. Myah and Jillian plan to use 100% of the profits to provide lunch to nurses at a local hospital and raised $260 in the first week. Thank you Myah and Jillian for demonstating such great leadership abilities!

Distance Learning Student Participates in an at Home Science Project Extension
Melanie Romero, kindergarten, made a bird feeder as an at home science project extension of Distance Learning Kindergarten's first weekof science instruction was about what plants and animals need to live and grow. Great job Melanie!
