Dana Schafer
Dana Schafer is the Public Information Officer for the Osceola School District. She has dedicated nearly 30 years to providing information to our students, families, and the community. Dana is a product of the Osceola School Distrct and is the proud mom of two Gators, as well as she and her husband being Gators themselves.

Jamie Rivera
Jamie Rivera is the Executive Secretary for the Community Relations Department. Jamie is from New Jersey but has lived in Florida for many years, and has spent her career working in the Osceola School District. Jamie's favorite pastime is traveling, her most recent trip was to Japan!

Martha Mann
Martha Mann is a Community Relations Specialist for the Osceola School District. She's dedicted 30 years to our students, staff, and community in Community Relations, Human Resources, and Professional Development. Martha's favorite role is coordinating the Teacher of the Year nominees and finalists and watching it call come together at our annual Education Awards.

Kim McKnight
Kim McKnight is a Community Relations Specialist in the Osceola School District and has dedicated more than 30 years in departments across the district. Kim plans and coordinates many of the district events, from the Administrators Welcome Back at the start of the year to Osceola Scholars at the end of the year, and everything in between.

Heather Kahoun
Heather Kahoun manages the social media for the Osceola School District. While she has only worked in Community Relations for a few years, she is one of our former teachers—dedicating nearly 15 years to the district. Heather loves sharing the great things happening in our schools and departments with our community. #SDOCGoodtoGreat

Carlos Hernandez
Carlos Hernandez is the Webmaster for the Osceola School District. Carlos has dedicated 21 years to the Osceola School District. He first worked at Thacker Avenue Elementary, then in Special Programs, and finally in Community Relations. Carlos is so excited about the launch of our new website and all it will offer our community.

Ruben Santa-Cruz
Ruben Santa-Cruz is the Video Productions Specialist for the district, focusing his time on videography and graphics. Ruben started his career with the district right out of high school and has been here ever since. When not shooting videos, Ruben can often be found brewing a cup of coffee—his favorite!

Robin Davis is the Volunteer Liaison Specialist for the OASIS Department, which falls under Community Relations. Robin has dedicated 21 years to the district, working in our schools, in Research & Evaluation, and in OASIS. Robin has a passion for ensuring we have dedicated and responsible volunteers in our schools each year.

Felisa Lewis is the OASIS Department's Partners in Education Specialist and the newest member of our Community Relations team. Before her time here, she worked at Chestnut Elementary. Felisa enjoys connecting businesses and schools together to benefit our students and teachers and does it with a fun spirit.

Maria Sparks is a District Receptionist, and one of the smiling faces that greets you when visiting the Administrative Complex. Maria enjoys helping our visitors find answers to their questions or where they need to go.

The team members in the district’s Community Relations Department are dedicated to keeping Osceola County residents informed about the School Board, the Osceola School District, and the individual public schools within the district. The goal of our communication efforts is to build trust within the district and create new lines of communication throughout the district with our many education stakeholders. Areas of focus for community engagement projects and programs include:

I was hired here last year, coming from New Hampshire and only having two years of official teaching under my belt. I'd been a paraprofessional since 2007 and finally finished my degree in 2014.

Neptune Middle School Aids Students in Navigating Distance Learning
The distance learning in the spring was difficult, stressful, and my daughter had a lot of technical issues. Throughout the quarter, we spoke with Ms Forty-Way and she was nothing but encouraging and understanding. She motivated my daughter to keep working hard even through her technical issues.

The Osceola School District is collaborating with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Broward County Public Schools, and the School District of Palm Beach County on the implementation of a college access event highlighting Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Osceola County School Board Reaches Tentative Agreement with Teamsters on Salary Increases for School-Related Employees In Their Bargaining Unit
The Osceola County School Board and Teamsters Local 385 have reached tentative agreement on $875,000 in salary increases.

School District's Ongoing Curbside Meal Program Consolidating To 13 School Sites Through End Of Second Semester
To ensure students have nutritious meals while learning at home, the Osceola School District's School Nutrition Services Department will continue to provide FREE breakfast and lunch to digital learning students and all children 18 years and under who are not attending in person classes through May 28, 2021.

The Osceola School District will be launching school orientations for incoming sixth and ninth grade students via FlipGrid, instead of holding large in-person events this year due to health and safety concerns.
