As I reflect on my first year as your Superintendent, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the progress we have made together. It has been a year of growth, learning, and collaboration, and I am excited to continue to improve the educational outcomes for all students.

 

I have learned so much throughout my first year, starting with the importance of community engagement. Your input guides our work as educators, which is why I am grateful to the students, parents, staff, and community members who have participated in my Meet and Treats, served on various advisory councils, and gathered for roundtable discussions. Those open and honest conversations have guided our district in setting new goals and standards as we build our newest Strategic Plan.

 

From day one, I have been vocal about elevating our school district to an “A.” To help accomplish this, we have enhanced our educational programs to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. This is evident by the incorporation of the Paxton-Patterson labs on all middle school campuses and the increased support systems in place on our high school campuses to ensure every student remains on track for graduation.  

 

To our students, I challenge you to dig deeper this year. Explore new career and technical education courses, take an industry certification test, join a new club, or add an honors or advanced placement class to your schedule. These experiences may be challenging at first, but they will teach you valuable life skills and lessons. 

 

To our parents, your involvement is crucial in shaping the future of our schools and the success of our students. I encourage you to continue your active participation in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and volunteer opportunities. Your dedication to your children’s education both at home and within the school community is invaluable.

 

Together, let’s embrace innovation, celebrate our diversity, and strive for excellence in every classroom. Let’s make this next year even more impactful by working hand-in-hand to provide the best educational experience possible for our children.
