Because learning is a part of everyday life - and a significant factor in the development of future generations - we need people to teach others, young and old. Teachers and other education administrators provide this instructional leadership, while also managing day-to-day activities in schools, colleges, even childcare centers to further educational advancement at various levels of life stages. Employment of school teachers is expected to grow by 12 percent from 2006 to 2016. Because of the size of occupations in this group, this growth will create 479,000 teacher positions, more than all but a few occupations.

Jobs in the Education and Training Career Cluster involve planning, managing, and providing education and training services, and related learning support services, including assessment and library and information services. In the Education and Training cluster, a student has the opportunity to work with and train young people. The majority of teachers are employed by primary or secondary schools. A student may also choose to support the work of the classroom teacher as a counselor, librarian, or principal. As American labor continues to increase in skill so will the demand for workers in the Education and Training Career Cluster. Because of the large number of teachers expected to retire, the need for teachers is expected to increase. There is also a shortage of highly qualified special education, math and science teachers across the nation.
Our vision: is to see that every student receives the academic knowledge and technical skills needed to be successful in an educational or support services career.

FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) is a national organization promoting personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development; creative and critical thinking; interpersonal communications; practical knowledge; and career preparation. FCCLA offers many quality programs and activities that encourage students to set career goals, develop self confidence, and learn about the problems and opportunities inherent in balancing the family and a career. In addition to competitive conferences, students have the opportunity to attend regional and state workshops which provide leadership, teaming, and problem-solving development.
