Tax Sheltered Annuities

  • TAX SHELTER ANNUITY INFORMATION

The School District of Osceola County currently offers 403(b) - Tax Sheltered Annuity (TSA) accounts to it's employees.  You may choose from several types of investment products for 403(b) accounts for your retirement savings.  The different investment products listed below represent the majority of all account types currently available.  The assistance of a professional representative can prove helpful in understanding how a particular investment product may be beneficial in achieving your accumulation goals and should suggest a plan (or combination of investment products) suitable to your risk tolerance.  Note that each investment product has specific provisions and advantages associated with its use.

Fixed-Interest and Variable Annuities: Fixed Interest annuities usually provide protection of principal and a current interest crediting rate. Variable annuities usually offer a fixed interest account along with separate accounts that are invested in bond and/or equity markets.

Service-Based Mutual Funds and Custodial Accounts: These products are offered by investment management companies and brokerage firms. Investment portfolios can include funds from a single fund family or a custodial platform that spans several fund families on a single statement.

No Load-Low Fee Mutual Funds: No-load funds are described as investments with no sales fees on the market-based mutual funds offered. Ongoing investment management fees are charged to the funds selected. The no-sales fee/low-asset management fee offerings are good for those individuals who do not want to work with an investment advisor.

Election requests will be submitted through an online system. This system is provided by our 403(b) and 457(b) Plan Administrator, US OMNI and TSACG Compliance Services. (USOTCS). The online process eliminates the need for paper SRAs and allows 24-hour access for employees. All approved representatives of the District’s authorized investment provider companies will be able to assist employees with this online process.

There are many benefits to the new SRA process:

    • Employees simply visit https://sra.tsacg.com to access the online system.
    • The system can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
    • Employees can start, change, or stop a 403(b) and/or 457(b) SRA at their convenience.
    • Employees receive immediate online confirmation that their request has been submitted.
    • Authorized Investment Provider Agents/Representatives can assist employees.
    • A list of authorized Investment Providers is available at www.tsacg.com.

Should you have any questions regarding the process, please contact USOTCS’s SRA Department at 888.796.3786, option 5.
