• The Program

The Osceola County School District wants all children to have a great start in oral language and vocabulary development. Born to Succeed is a countywide Early Literacy initiative providing baby bags filled with resources and developmental information to new moms who have given birth at both the Osceola County ORMC and Celebration Hospitals. Born to Succeed promotes parent education and helps families develop essential early literacy skills in their infants, toddlers, and young children throughout Osceola County.

During the 2022-2023 school year, 2,045 lives were touched from the first heartbeat as 'Born to Succeed' baby bags were given to moms and their newborn babies throughout Osceola County.

  • Born to Succeed bags include:

    • Books and resources for parents and newborns.
    • Parent education information on early literacy skills, child development, and the nurturing of infants and toddlers.

    What the research says:

    • Babies need warm, loving, and caring interaction with their parents.
    • Children who are introduced to books and early literacy skills from birth are more likely to succeed when they go to school.
