Mrs. DeRight is joining Central Avenue as the Assistant Principal. She is excited about starting her journey with the students and staff. She has been with the School District of Osceola County since 2005. Most recently Mrs. DeRight was a district Curriculum Resource Teacher with a specialization in mathematics. She also worked at Kissimmee Elementary School as a teacher and Instructional Coach.

Mrs. DeRight grew up in Western Pennsylvania and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Slippery Rock University. She then went on to complete a Masters in Elementary Reading and Math from Walden University. She also completed her Masters in Educational Leadership through the American College of Education.

When not at school, Mrs. DeRight stays busy with her family of 7.  All of her children are involved in extracurricular activities. Her two sons, Landen and Jackson, play ice hockey and her daughters, Emma, Camryn, and Mila are cheerleaders. Any free family time is spent at Disney or with friends and family.

Mrs. DeRight is honored to have the privilege of serving the community, staff, and students of Central Avenue Elementary.
