    CELL PHONE/PERSONAL DEVICE

BYOD is an acronym for Bring Your Own Device. The District defines a device as a personally owned laptop, tablet, netbook, e-Reader, iPod touch or iPad, or cell/smart phone. Unless the teacher has approved the use of a personal device for a particular lesson, all devices (including cell phones) must be turned off and not  visible during the school day. Cell phones will be confiscated from anyone violating this policy and a parent/leagal guardian will be required to come in and pick up the phone. Please understand that if your child brings any personal device, the school is not liable for any loss or theft of those devices. For more information, please refer to Student Internet and Network Use Procedures sent home in the first day packet.

**It is the student’s responsibility to comply with Osceola County School District policies in accordance with the Student Internet and Network Use Procedures, Network Accptable Use Policy, and Code of Student Conduct while utilizing a personal device on school grounds or in any building owned or operated by the School Board.**

If you do not wish for your child to access the Internet or use the BYOD network, you must notify the principal, in writing, within ten (10) calendar days after receiving the procedures mentioned above.
