    Student Group: 9th Grade Students

This test assesses the same skills and knowlege as the SAT and PSAT/NMSQT, but in a way that makes sense for ninth graders.  It measures what they're already learning, shows them whether they're on track for college, and lets them know where they need the most improvement.  That means students have time to tackle these areas long before they take the SAT.  And also, these scores are not sent to colleges or universities. The following are other key benefits of the PSAT 8/9:

    • It helps establish a baseline for students as they enter high school and begin preparing for college and career readiness.
    • It will identify areas where students excel and may want to consider taking higher-level courses, as well as areas they should focus on to improve academically.
    • It provides students with better access to data and personalized study through the online CollegeBoard and Khan Academy resources.

Please be on the lookout for a letter to be sent home to every 9th grade student that will tell you your testing location so you know where to report to on test day.  But don't worry, we will have plenty of staff on hand the morning of the test as well in case you need some extra help.
