Purpose
To instill in participating U.S. high school students the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment.
Program Goals
- Promote patriotism

- Develop a high degree of personal honor, self-reliance, individual discipline, & leadership
- Promote an understanding of the basic elements & need for national security

Four Year Curriculum: Naval Science (NS)
NS-1
- Leadership;
- Foundations of Government; Navy Ships & Aviation; Military Customs, Courtesies, Uniforms; Military Drill; Health & Physical Fitness, First Aid, Orienteering, Survival
NS -2
- Naval Leadership; Naval History; Nautical Sciences
- Including: Maritime Geography, Oceanography, Meteorology, Astronomy, and Physical Sciences such as Physics of Flight, Buoyancy, Electricity & Electronics, and Sound Propagation in Water.
NS -3
- Naval Knowledge and Naval Skills
- Including: Sea Power & National Security, Naval Operations, Communications & Intelligence, Logistics, Military & International Law of the Sea, Ship Construction and Damage Control, Shipboard Organization, Seamanship, Nautical Rules of the Road, Navigation & Time, Maneuvering Boards, Naval Guns, Aircraft & Missiles.
