Greetings Jaguars!
The Jaguar Nation is bustling with engagement as students analyze their F.A.S.T. PM2 data results. This is a great time to review those baseline results with your learner and set goals for the 2024-2025 school year. For your convenience, students' results are readily accessible via the student's FOCUS portal. The goal this year is on grade level and beyond! That translates to level 3 or higher in both Reading & Math.
Level 3= On Grade Level
Level 4 = Proficient
Level 5 = Exemplary
While we recognize that may not be attainable YET, for some learners, the goal is for students to grow one full level each school year, narrowing that achievement gap until they are on grade level LVL 3! We are equipped with a comprehensive blueprint of principles and values which will propel us towards measurable results for all learners. We invite you now to join us on this exciting journey, as we begin the heavy lifting of guiding our Jaguars through the middle school years. Please remember you are not alone. We have a team of dedicated teachers, administrators, and professional support staff members committed to helping your child every step of the way!

The Only Dual Language Middle School in Osceola County
Kissimmee Middle School is the only Dual Language Middle School in Osceola County. A Dual Language Program is an educational model that promotes high academic achievement, while supporting English language development and cross-cultural understanding for all students. In this model all academic subjects are taught to all students in both English and Spanish.
The benefits of participating in this program are many. If you are an English Language Learner (ELL) enrolled in a dual immersion program, learning to speak, read, and write English is about many things. It’s about new words. It’s about pronunciation. It’s about becoming bilingual and biliterate. Above all, it is about maintaining your native tongue while gaining access to grade-level classes in math, science, and other subjects.
Dual-language immersion programs are effective because they encourage students to master English but not at the cost of losing their native language. It is our hope that our students will be well prepared and have the pride and self-confidence to be successful in the competitive international community. Parents wanting their children to continue participating in a Duel Language Program are welcome to enroll their child at Kissimmee Middle School.

College and Career Readiness
There are a wide variety of Career and Technical Educational classes offered at Kissimmee Middle School. Our Career and Technical Education program helps students improve their math, science, literacy and problem-solving skills. These courses are specifically designed to enable students to explore career pathways, determine career interests and aptitudes, and develop basic technical skills in a variety of career areas. Our CTE courses provide focused instruction in “Business Keyboarding, Computer Applications, and Career planning”.
A key component of our Career Technical coursework and S.T.E.M. offerings is Project Lead the Way. This hands-on program boosts classroom engagement and excitement, drives collaboration, and inspires “aha! moments” and deep comprehension. As students engage in PLTW’s activities in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science, they can see a range of paths and possibilities that they can look forward to in high school and beyond.
Kissimmee Middle School is a proud AVID school. AVID, or Advancement Via Individual Determination, provides scaffolded support that students need to encourage college and career readiness and success. Regardless of their life circumstances, AVID students overcome obstacles and achieve success. They graduate and attend college at higher rates, but more importantly, they can think critically, collaborate, and set high expectations to confidently conquer the challenges that await them. Many of our teachers have been trained to engage students using AVID strategies in their classrooms.
