Grading requirements
Osceola Virtual Schools set high expectations for the success of its students. We are committed to meeting the needs of all students and will work tirelessly to facilitate student success. To maintain instructional momentum, students are required to submit assignments to their course on a weekly basis and to maintain regular contact with their instructors.
Osceola Virtual School students are expected to turn in assignments each week for their courses. Your submitted work is considered your attendance. A student pacing guide is available within the digital platform as the exact number of assignments varies by course (usual 3-5 assignments).Student work will be graded and returned within 48 hours, following the school day calendar. Students should review the teacher's feedback and follow the recommendations. Once all assignments, discussion-based assessments and exams are complete and the required seat time has been met, the final grade will be posted on a student's transcript.Drop/Withdrawal
- Students will be withdrawn from the course if the welcome call is not completed.
- Failure to respond to the attempts to contact the student, or failure to adhere to the Academic Plan may result in loss of access to courses or Administrative Removal from the course.

Final Exam Policy
The purpose of the final exam is to assist in validating that students have demonstrated mastery of key course concepts and standards. The final exam, unto itself, is not the sole determiner of student achievement; however, students are required to take and successfully pass a final exam in all OVS courses. In order to maintain the integrity of all OVS grades, instructors may choose to facilitate random oral assessments and/or face-to-face exams. Also, some classes will take the End of Course Exam (EOC) required by the State of Florida.
Will my student receive a report card?
Parents will be able to monitor student progress anytime. Final grade reports are also issued within the Learning Management System, and grades are posted to the student’s academic history file in the district’s mainframe computer system.
