Consistent attendance at school is essential to your student's academic success. However, we understand that there are times students are unable to attend school.

Reporting a Student Absence

Send a parent or doctor note with the student on the first day they are returning to school. Please make sure the student's name and ID number are readable. You may also call the attendance line and leave a message with the student's name, ID number, and the reason for not attending school.

Excused vs. Unexcused

Absences will be excused for the following reasons:

1. Illness or injury of the student  

2.  Illness or injury in the immediate family  

3.  Death in the immediate family. Unexcused absences include family trips, vacations, cruises, etc.

Missing Assignments

It is the student's responsibility to obtain and complete all missing work in a timely manner.

Tardy to School

For truancy purposes, five (5) tardies to school, or a combination of tardies to school and early departures that equals five (5), shall equal one unexcused absence. However, this unexcused absence is for referral purposes, and the electronic record is not to be altered. Actual presence or absence on campus must be accurately reflected in the electronic record. School begins at 9:30am and breakfast is served from 9:00am - 9:20am.
