How to Complete an Assignment in Teams

1. On the left, you will see Assignments as part of the Class Tools.

For ease of access, the Class Tools will always be visible on the left below the class name and will be where students find their work.

Teams Assignment Menu

2. Inside of Assignments, students will find assignments from their teachers. Students can click on the assignment name to view and complete the assigned tasks.

3. For this assignment, the teacher attached a Word document for the student to complete. Students can open the document by clicking on it to complete the assignment.

4. Word documents (and other Microsoft formats) open within the Teams platform natively, so students have easy access to editing. Students can now type in or mark their answers directly on the Word document.

The document auto-saves as students work. When finished, click the close button on the top right-hand corner.

Editing an assignment

5. Back on the assignment screen, students have the option to:

  1. Continue editing their work at another time.
  2. Turn in their work by clicking on the purple Turn In button.

7. When the assignment reopens, students can see their grade and any feedback about their work.
