The Technology Student Association (TSA) has made a considerable impact on the life of Milo and Taylan Rasmussen.

TSA is a group of more than 250,000 middle and high school students nationwide who aspire to be future engineers, scientists, and technologists. The club fosters leadership and opportunities in technology, innovation, design and engineering. Members apply STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) concepts through co-curricular programs.

Milo and Taylan first joined TSA when they attended Horizon Middle School under the guidance of Ms. Fisher. While there, they both attended the state conference all three years and also attended the national conference once.

In September of 2017, the boys found out that Ms. Fisher had nominated them for the STEM Scholar Award. Their nomination had been accepted by the STEM Alliance and they were invited to a School Board Meeting where they met with and were recognized by the STEM Alliance.

Milo was so inspired by TSA that when he entered ninth grade at Poinciana High School he spoke with the principal and the engineering teacher about starting a chapter there. He is now president of that chapter for the second year and plans on continuing to lead other students in entering their second state competition.

Taylan is continuing his journey with TSA at NeoCity Academy this year and has plans to compete at the state conference with his fellow members as well.

TSA has made a big impact on these students in Osceola School District along with many others like them.
