SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, & ACT School Days
This semester we will be offering the PSAT/NMSQT to all juniors, sophomores, & freshman, the SAT for all seniors, and the ACT for all juniors. These assessments will take place during the regular school day to ensure your scholar is more comfortable and confident on the assessments. Performing well on these assessments can have many positive implications for your scholar. Some of these many reasons include (but are not limited to scholarship qualification, postsecondary entry requirements, and graduation assessment requirements for a standard FL high school diploma.
Assessment Schedule
- 11th grade scholars will participate in the Digital ACT on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
- 12th grade scholars will participate in the DIgital SAT on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
- 9th, 10th, and 11th grade scholars will participate in the Digital PSAT/NMSQT on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
School Issued Devices
One major difference this year is that all of these assessment are now digital. Scholars must bring their fully charged school-issued device as well as its charger for each of these assessments. Their device must be fully charged; we recommend fully charging it the night before. Space in testing rooms will be limited for scholars to access outlets. Moreover, loaner devices will be very limited and scholars may lose their opportunity to participate in the assessments if they do not bring their device to school with a full charge.
Arrival Time
Scholars must arrive to school on time in order to be admitted into the testing rooms. Scholars must be in place no later than 7:15AM. Scholars arriving after the assessments have begun will be participating in other instructional activies and will need to test on an alternate date.

SAT & PSAT/NMSQT Practice on Khan Academy
Taking an SAT practice test is good practice for the PSAT/NMSQT because the assessments measure the same skills and knowledge in ways that make sense for different grade levels. The College Board and Khan Academy® have partnered to make practicing easy and personal. At Khan Academy, you can access thousands of questions approved by the College Board, take official SAT practice tests, and create personalized study plans based on your results. Prepare for SAT success with Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy® at www.satpractice.org.
ACT Test Prep and Practice on ACT.org
The ACT has a plethora of resources and practice questions/tests on their website, directly from the makers of the assessment. Please visit Free ACT Test Prep for more information and resources.
Accommodations
We are dedicated to ensuring our scholars who qualify for accommodations on assessments are able to receive them. If your scholar currently receives accommodations as documented in an IEP, 504 plan, and/or ELL plan, please do not wait; request accommodations on the SAT, PSAT, and/or the ACT today. Please note, that scholars who typically receive accommodations do not automatically receive accommodations on any of the aforementioned assessments. Accommodations must be requested and approved before the assessment in order for your scholar to participate with accommodations—otherwise they may participate in the assessment without accommodations.
To request accommodations for a documented disability for College Board tests & the ACT test, please gather the following information a) scholar full name, b) Scholar ID number, c) accommodations to be requested, and d) a signed copy of BOTH of the parental consent form (for SAT only seniors; for PSAT/NMSQT 9th - 11th graders; & the ACT only juniors). The consent forms are linked below and can be returned to Mr. Haire in person OR emailed to Mr. Haire. Once that information is collected, please email Mr. Haire at ryan.haire@osceolaschools.net to confirm your request is received. Please note that the deadline for requesting accommodations is extremely tight: these forms need to be returned no later than 12:00PM on Friday, August 23, 2024.

- ACT Accommodations Request Consent Form
Requests received after this deadline may be submitted; however, not in time for approval on the school day assessments in October. Keep in mind that scholars who do not have an IEP, 504, or EL Plan on file will likely not receive accommodations from the College Board or the ACT.
College Board Account
To ensure scholars can view his\her SAT & PSAT/NMSQT scores as soon as they are available, please ensure that your scholar creates a College Board Account. Please click on or copy and paste the link below into your browser to complete a College Board Account.
https://pages.collegeboard.org/account-help/why-create-college-board-account. Scholars should not create multiple accounts. If your scholar has forgotten which email address, s/he used to create an account, or already has multiple accounts, please have your scholar contact College Board customer service at 866-315-6068.
